JEFF JONES LIVING WATER SERVICE AWARD

Established by Finney County Feedyard

Presented by Dream First Bank

Beef Empire Days, Inc. recognizes the men and women in our feedlot and ranching community who go over and beyond every day to care for the thousands of head of livestock in Southwest Kansas. We want to honor individuals whose years of dedication and commitment have helped set the standard for the industry we are all involved in.

The Service Award is to honor Jeff Jones who was a 30-year employee of Finney County Feedyard and a lifetime member of the Garden City community. He cared deeply about the cattle and people he worked with. We lost Jeff suddenly in 2024. Your business may have one of those MVP’s – dedicated and devoted to getting it “done right.”   Day or night, snowstorms, flood, or blazing heat -- ensuring that every animal had been fed, watered, and taken care of before the day was done

Any feedlot or ranch who has a person like Jeff can nominate them over the coming year  and we will select a new recipient and recognize them next year at Beef Empire Days. We all accept the enormous responsibility of taking care of God's land and his creatures big and small. The land and cattle sustain our lives through the meat and fiber they provide. People like Jeff are the ones that protect the land and make the animals as safe and comfortable as possible for the time they are under our care.
